Dr. Thekla Brunkert is a trained physiotherapist with several years of professional experience in Germany and Switzerland. After graduating from the University of Lucerne with a Master of Health Sciences, she started as a research assistant at the Institute of Nursing Science (INS) at the University of Basel. Here she completed her PhD from 2016 to 2019 in the ProQuaS (Identification and Development of Interfaces to Promote Quality of Life for Residents of Senevita https://nursing.unibas.ch/de/forschung/forschung/abgeschlossene-projekte/proquas/ ) project. In October 2019, she joined the Manitoba Center for Health Policy at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Canada as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow. There she was involved in several research projects focusing on geriatric care and implementation science in the trans-Canadian TREC (Translating Research in Elder Care) research group. Since October 2020, Thekla Brunkert is a postdoctoral fellow at the University Geriatric Medicine FELIX PLATTER and the Institute of Nursing Science at the University of Basel. Her research focus is on implementation science, technology and geriatric care.
